ACLaS is an organization which is geared towards attracting girls to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. It is headed by ladies who hold doctorates in STEM subject areas. These ladies are able to offer mentorship and educational support while also fostering the holistic development of the participants. The under-representation of women in science is a trending problem worldwide and Jamaica is no exception. This initiative is intended to attract girls to science at an early age and to foster their development as budding scientists by helping to maintain their focus as they progress to higher institutions. The success of this organization will develop robust critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills among our nationals, thereby further enabling our society to collaborate with international groups to mitigate or eliminate common crises.
Promoting the empowerment of women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields while fostering their holistic development.
